Mirampello territory corresponded with that of the current municipality Agios Nikolaos,
Agios Nikolaos a coastal town lying east of Crete island, with the most blue flag beaches in Greece.
From east of capital Heraklion with Kazantzakis airport, north of the town of Ierapetra and west of the town of Sitia. Agios Nikolaos took its name from the old church of Saint Nicholas, located north of the town.
Don’t miss to check olive trees and almond valleys, between the mountains with panoramic views of Mirarabello bay. The town that sits partially upon the ruins of the ancient city of Lato pros Kamara. Nearchus, admiral of Alexander the Great, was born at Lato.
Mirabello area has activity on the site continued throughout the Minoan Bronze Age and the Classical Greek and Roman periods, spanning a total of up to 4,000 years.
