Step into the soul of Crete with an evening of music, food, and tradition in a mountain Metochi (shepherd’s house). This is more than a meal — it’s an authentic celebration of “parea” (togetherness) and local life.

What You’ll Do:

  • Visit a traditional Metochi high in the mountains and learn how shepherd families once lived, their traditions, and daily way of life.

  • Pause at the Katharo Plateau for a coffee or soft drink before returning to the Metochi to prepare a fresh Cretan salad and appetizers.

  • Enjoy a delicious Cretan dinner (catered from a local taverna) with wine, raki, and authentic flavors of the island.

  • Experience the magic of live Cretan music with two musicians (lyra & lute) performing for three hours. Learn about local songs, the meaning of the lyrics, and the art of the mandinada.

  • If you love dancing, we’ll guide you through the basic steps of traditional Cretan dances—then join in and celebrate together!
